Explore the Possibilities in the Knowledge Center at Itron Inspire 2023

October 23, 2023

Flights are booked, suitcases are packed, our solution and product demos are prepped and we’re ready to go – it’s finally time for Itron Inspire 2023!

Showcasing Itron’s comprehensive solutions and partner offerings, the Knowledge Center is your gateway to more intelligence and more possibilities. Attendees can see product demos, talk to knowledgeable product experts, watch Lightning Talks at the Town Square and much more.

This year, we’re excited to share demonstrations and showcase solutions at Itron Inspire that focus on:

  • DI Ecosystem Enablement: With Itron’s IIoT expertise and open distributed intelligence platform, innovators around the world are joining the Itron Partner Ecosystem to deliver best-in-class solutions to today’s challenges. Utilities can realize proven value today with smart grid applications that allow innovators to build open, interoperable, value-driven outcomes – including smart home and DERMS offerings – that evolve with market and consumer demands. Utilities can connect, detect, operate and control at the edge, delivering a more efficient, optimized, intelligent grid for their communities—all realized with grid edge solutions. Stop by the Knowledge Center to discover a new world of capabilities and innovative solutions made possible through more intelligence.
  • Distribution Automation (DA): DA technology is responsible for monitoring, controlling and optimizing grid efficiency. These low- and medium- voltage solutions can help prevent service interruptions, sense when the power is out at each service point, track connectivity back to where an outage has occurred and more. Attendees will learn how Itron’s IIoT solutions make it possible for more intelligence throughout utility grid operations – especially in the face of disaster.
  • Distributed Energy Resource Management: Itron’s DER Solution enables utilities to expand their legacy demand response programs to include a wide range of DERs, including electric vehicles, smart inverters, battery storage systems and other flexible loads. Attendees will learn how Itron is helping utilities turn these behind-the-meter DERs into valuable grid assets that deliver improved reliability, resiliency, customer engagement and sustainability.
  • Edge Gateway: Itron’s Edge Gateway is a versatile, highly secure, edge-computing platform that enables intelligent IIoT connectivity leveraging LTE, private LTE, 5G cellular and Itron’s GenTM5 Mesh communication technology between fielded devices and back-office systems or cloud devices. The Knowledge Center will showcase how this secure and robust platform enables a multitude of use cases across distribution automation, distributed energy resource management and smart cities.
  • Electric Vehicles: As the transition to electrified transportation continues, it’s crucial for utilities to adjust their charging infrastructure to meet the increase in demand. Itron’s EV solutions ensure charging assets work in harmony across the grid, which enables end customers to better manage their fuel costs and utilities to protect the grid while delivering reliable service. As the accelerating adoption of EVs continues to unfold in the years to come, now is the time for utilities to take action to ensure a smooth transition.
  • Intelligent Connectivity: New advancements in industrial IoT (IIoT) technology are enabling more real-time visibility and control for highly integrated use cases like distributed energy resources (DERs) and electric vehicles (EVs). Stop by the Knowledge Center for live demos about new use cases in water/gas, our expanding portfolio in cellular and Private LTE, fiber and more that can support your utility’s digital transformation goals.
  • Smart Communities: Cities, municipalities and utilities have a tremendous opportunity to improve quality of life in their communities by addressing issues such as air and water quality, resource scarcity, traffic and parking congestion, road safety and digital inclusion. With smart streetlights, IIoT sensors and a multi-application network canopy, your utility can have an intelligent, robust system to deploy any number of smart city solutions that create more sustainable, better-connected communities. Attendees will learn how in the Knowledge Center.

New additions to the Knowledge Conference this year include:

  • Interactive Wayfinding App: Right inside the doors to the Knowledge Center, attendees can use this tool to explore the experts, solutions and locations of everything inside. Type a keyword to see results, then select a result and the map will show you where to find it within the Knowledge Center.
  • Customized Itron Experience: The Itron Experience is where Itron solutions come to life. Attendees will be in the driver’s seat with the opportunity to “Choose Your Own Grid Adventure” – and see how your decisions can make or break the grid. This year, the demonstration is truly unique, and every person will experience it differently. Space is limited – reserve your demo time in the Itron Inspire app.
  • Itron Museum Wall: Learn about Itron’s deep history, evolution over the years and innovation that lies ahead by visiting the very first Itron museum wall in the Knowledge Center.
